According to Elon Musk, Starlink Will Be 40% Faster Than Fiber Optics

The billionaire owner of Starlink and also of Tesla and SpaceX, we are talking about Elon Musk, has come out to reveal details of one of his favorite projects. It is precisely Starlink, which consists of a constellation of satellites that will provide broadband Internet.

According to Musk, the service could transfer data faster than fiber optics, reaching speeds close to the speed of light in a vacuum. And, in addition, there will be no need for stations on Earth, as revealed this week by the entrepreneur himself.

He did so through his Twitter account, where he pointed out that, thanks to the lasers with which the Starlink satellites will be equipped, it will be possible to transfer data in an instant.

He said: "Laser links alleviate the limitations of ground stations, so data can go from, for example, Sydney to London through space, which is about 40% faster than the speed of light in fiber optics and a shorter path.

And he closed, regarding the range: "Also, there is no need for ground stations everywhere - the Arctic will have great bandwidth!".

As is known, the Starlink initiative launched by SpaceX, seeks to provide fast high-speed Internet access absolutely everywhere on the planet.
